During the long ride to Hacienda Baru, Mia
fell asleep and Amelie wanted to hold her hand, then she fell
asleep. |
|
First things first, of course. This is
Jacob, Naomi's brother. He said the Imperial beer they have down
there is pretty good, but I can't stand beer, and it tasted like all
other beers to me. |
|
I like this picture because you can see
the similarity between my eyes and Amelie's. |
|
There was a butterfly sanctuary there
with over 500 different kinds of butterflies. The kids went nuts
trying to catch one. |
|
Hacienda Baru is a great little spot, with
six cabinas and an ecological preserve on over 800 acres. It's
awesome. There's a ton of wildlife. All we saw was monkeys, but
Jacob got to see a sloth when he did the ziplines. He also ate a
termite that he said tasted good, like a lemon. |
|
We did the 1km hike down to their beach,
it was easy. |
|
The beach on Hacienda Baru is pretty cool.
We had fun hiking down there. Turtles come up and nest on this
beach, too. |

Playing on the beach at Hacienda Baru. |
|
There was all kinds of cool drift-wood washed up
on shore, Amelie had fun climbing on it. |

Naomi and Mia on the beach at Baru. Mia is
such a happy baby, it's just amazing. She was great for us the whole
trip. |
|
On the way back to San Jose to catch our
flight, we spent the night at a place with a bunny. We promised
Amelie if she was good on the flight we'd get her very own bunny
rabbit. It worked like magic on the flight. Except, of course, now
we have to get a bunny. |
|
Now that we've shown you how cool Costa
Rica is, get going! It's that-a-way! |
